Closet doors kept coming off track, main door started coming off hinges, 3 lights in bathroom burnt out upon arrival (quickly replaced once we called) dust ruffles dirty, walls dirty, problem with pay movie viewing ( management took charge off). Cheryl at Hawaii 5-0 very quick to respond and very friendly. Place needs a good deep cleaning. Location was great. We didn't realize that there was not a hot tub. We enjoy them while on vacation.

On checking in, the Ala Moana required an additional $153 in fees associated with the rental property we rented. There had been NO MENTION of these fees prior to our arrival, and on my return, I did not find any contract which was supposedly emailed on 12/15/10. The rental agency credited back only $75 of the fees.
This is a rental property rental, NOT a hotel room. As such, it should have had basic cleaning supplies, dish soap and sponge, kitchen towels, instructions on where to place trash, and the specific mention of "daily maid service" in the original write-up was simply inaccurate, as there was no maid service during our week in the room.
The original rental agent we dealt with left before or during our stay, and it seems our rental was lost in the shuffle, along with $78 in additional fees which should have been reimbursed.
This was a very poor experience in customer service and one I wouldn't recommend.

The condo was nothing more than a hotel room which was fine it was all I needed. The location was terrific the beach, the view, the park, the mall where all very close. I was pleased with my stay and would recommend the property. My advice would be to

The room has one of the best views the hotel has to offer. Can see the ocean and yacht harbor while lying in the bed! Room was very clean and crisp. Used the gym extensively, it is very well equipped. I will be a repeat customer!

Great room and location with a wonderful view of the marina and ocean. The the staff at the rental agency were very niece to work with and allowed me to stay to extend my departure time. I plan to stay in the room on my next trip to Hawaii.

Staying at the Ala Moana is good because all the amenities are right there. The bus system is excellent.
It is walking distance to most places on Waikiki.
There was excellent communication with the property management staff.
However, the price is comparable to renting through the hotel but you do not receive maid service.

Though the condo is in a hotel building and treated as a condo without housekeeping services, it could have been better stocked with items such as toilette paper and trash bags. I have stayed in actual full condos before and they are typically stocked with some bare essentials just as ones appartment would be. Recommend improving by stocking such items verses leaving only 3/4 of a roll of toilet paper for a new guest for 11 days.
